Sony Xperia Z2 will be launched in the United States this summer

Sony has confirmed to TechCrunch that Xperia Z2 will be published in the United States but not before several months. The release is scheduled for "summer". A U.S. launch of the Xperia Compact Z1 is currently not in the books at all, we also learned.

The Z2 will be sold unlocked via the Sony Online store. Carriers have not been announced, and what Sony told us, it seems talks are underway with carriers and nothing has yet been finalized.

Sony has revealed both the smartphone Z2 and Z2 tablet at the Mobile World Congress a few months back. We recently spent some time with the pair and they do impressive kits. The phone and Tablet are waterproof and incredibly thin, feel more like the HTC One M8, the Samsung Galaxy S5 plasticy chic. The Z2 tablet is now available in the United States

However, as Sony has indicated at the end of 2013, the company focuses not on the American market. Historically, the company had no great success in the US smartphone the Z2 was published in some Asian markets in March and April. It is striking in other markets, including the Canada in May. The United States is apparently at the bottom of the list.

And it is a damn shame. The Z2 is a fantastic Android device.
