An imprint of the user of the phone, photographed on a glass surface, was enough to create a false finger capable of unlocking the security TouchID. «The Apple sensor has only a greater resolution than the other sensors. We just needed to increase the resolution of our fake finger", reveals the Starbug hacker in a release on the CCC website.

To reproduce a false fingerprint, the hackers are based on materials of everyday life. "The fingerprint was photographed with a resolution of 2400 dpi. The image is then cleaned, reversed and printed by laser with a resolution of 1200 dpi on a transparent sheet. This engraved leaf mold helps a liquid latex. Once dry, the latex sheet is used to unlock the iPhone, decrypts the hacker team.
