The update of the Google translation tool now allows to translate words capturing them directly via the iOS and Android smartphone photo sensor. The talk mode has also been improved.

Google is formalizing the update of its translation Translate tool dedicated initially to the terminals under iOS and Android. By integrating Wordlens real-time technology, the service will allow mobile phone users to instantly translate text from one language to another by pointing the sensor picture of their smartphone on these. On his blog the Mountain View firm said it had crossed a step further by offering instantaneous translation across the sensor of a smartphone.

It will suffice to point its smartphone to a plug in foreign language to get an instant of it with no latency delay translation, even if it is not connected to the Internet, said Google.

The company also said that this latest version of Google Translate will be limited to English, in french, German, Russian and Spanish, Portuguese specifying that this update would be translations from or into English. The conversation, much faster and more fluid fashion, has also improved in this update.

However, service was not yet on Google Play time where we publish this information. Translate currently supports more than 90 languages. Google has 500 million active users of the service each month, through all its platforms. The app has also been installed more than 100 million times on Android smartphones.
